Competing for a Cause

Hoops 4 Hunger combines school spirit with community service by eliminating school lunch balances for families in need. Elementary, Middle and High Schools compete to raise the most funds for school lunches, winning prizes, trophies, and bragging rights while making sure no students go hungry in West Ada schools.

Why It Matters

No student should have to choose between learning and hunger. While the Free and Reduced Lunch Program provides critical support, many families fall just outside the eligibility criteria yet still face daily struggles to make ends meet. Often these families cannot afford their child’s lunch balance.

Hoops 4 Hunger addresses this problem by covering the cost of school lunches. Every dollar raised helps feed local kids and reinforces a culture of care, compassion, and community support across West Ada Schools.

West Ada is committed to ensuring no student is hungry in our classrooms.
